Morristown, NJ – Catholic priest from Poland arrested for criminal sexual contact of teenage girl FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform

Rev. Marcin Nurek, 37

The Rev. Marcin Nurek, 37, a recently ordained catholic priest from Poland, was arrested and charged with third-degree endangering the welfare of a child and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact – stemming from an incident where Nurek allegedly put his hand under a teenage girls skirt.

Despite the prosecutors filing for detention of Nurek, Judge Paul Armstrong sided with the defense and determined that Nurek was not a flight risk and posed no threat to the community.

Nurek was then released and FREE TO GO after the Arnold Foundation’s “Pretrial Risk Assessment” tool determined that he was not a danger to the community or a flight risk and therefore should not be subject to any accountable release – just a “promise” to appear.
