Man charged with 2nd degree Sexual Assault (2 counts) FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform

Man charged in sexual assault released on his own recognizance under NJ Bail Reform

Pallisades Park, NJ – According to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office press release, Min Sung Jeon was charged with 2 counts of 2nd degree sexual assault – only later to be released and FREE TO GO thanks to NJ Bail Reform after the Arnold Foundation’s “Pretrial Risk Assessment” tool determined he was not a danger to the community or a flight risk and therefore should not be subject to any accountable release – just a “promise” to appear.

The release is yet another example of the thousands of unaccountable and FREE TO GO pretrial releases of those criminally charged under the NJ Bail Reform Act.

From Acting Prosecutor Dennis Calo:

Acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo announced the arrest of MIN SUNG JEON (DOB: 07/27/1975; single; and self-employed) of 535A Second Street, Palisades Park, NJ, on charges of Sexual Assault. The arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office under the direction of Chief Robert Anzilotti, the Palisades Park Police Department under the direction of Chief Mark Jackson, and the Little Ferry Police Department under the direction of Chief Ralph Verdi.

On May 29, 2018, the Palisades Park Police Department received a report that an adult female was sexually assaulted by Min Sung JEON on May 25, 2018 in Palisades Park, NJ. As the result of an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, the Palisades Park Police Department, and the Little Ferry Police Department, Min Sung JEON was arrested on June 4, 2018 in Palisades Park, NJ and charged with two counts of Sexual Assault, N.J.S.A. 2C:14-2C(1), a crime of the 2nd degree.
