Dawan Smith, 27, of Ewing was arrested after a two-week investigation led to the seizure of a loaded .45 caliber handgun, a half-pound of marijuana, 13 bags of marijuana packaged for distribution and $1,055 in cash.

Smith was quickly released and FREE TO GO after his first appearance under NJ Bail Reform after the Arnold Foundation’s “Pretrial Risk Assessment” tool determined that he was not a danger to the community or a flight risk and therefore should not be subject to any accountable release – just a “promise” to appear.
