Miguel Collado, of Jersey City, was criminally charged after he threw blood on security guards telling the staff “I have HIV, now you’re blessed.”

Man throws his blood at hospital security guards, says he has HIV: court docs

A man who claimed to have HIV threw his own blood at three security guards while being treated in the emergency room for a laceration on his hand, court records show. 

Miguel Collado, of Martin Luther King Drive in Jersey City, was is facing one count of aggravated assault for the March 11 incident at Jersey City Medical Center. 

According to a criminal complaint, Collado’s blood landed on the security guards’ face, skin, and eyes. He told the staff “I have HIV, now you’re blessed,” the court documents indicate.

After Collado’s first appearance Wednesday, the judge ordered the release of Collado by court order.
