50 pounds of pot, 900 grams of coke seized in Jersey City drug bust: cops

(incident reported by NJ.com – May 18 2017)

Authorities confiscated 50 pounds of high-grade marijuana, 900 grams of cocaine and approximately $125,000 in cash when a man was arrested this week in Jersey City, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office announced.

Hasung Christopher Lee, 28, of Grand Street, was arrested Tuesday following a two-day investigation by the HCPO’s Narcotics Task Force and a search of his home.

Authorities also recovered 1,000 tabs of N-BOMe — a hallucinogen — approximately 200 doses of liquid THC, and more than 100 Xanax pills, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said.

Authorities placed the estimated street value of the recovered drugs at approximately $300,000. Task force members also seized three vehicles, said Suarez, who credited the Jersey City Police Department with assisting in the arrest.

Lee now faces 13 drug counts, as well as a money laundering charge.

He made his first court appearance on the charges in Criminal Justice Reform Court on Wednesday and was released from custody with conditions of supervision.
