ATTEMPTED BURGLARY SUSPECT ARRESTED

On May 7th. at 6:36 am a male attempted to burglarize the Express Market in the 500 block of Monmouth Street by trying to smash the front door glass with a hammer. Video surveillance footage of the crime was obtained and photos of the suspect were posted on our Facebook page later that day. Further investigation conducted by Det. Keith O’Donnell resulted in the arrest of the suspect of May 9th. Michael A. Oehlert (27), a resident of the 500 block of Bergen Street, was arrested and charged with criminal attempt burglary and criminal mischief. After processing, he was released.
