Bayonne, NJ – Man arrested for 3rd time this year on theft and burglary – FREE TO GO all 3 times under NJ Bail Reform

Isaiah N. Jones, 26, of Jersey City, must be loving New Jersey’s new bail reform after having been arrested three times just this year in April, May, and again in June for theft, burglary, and obstruction – only to be released over and over and FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform after the Arnold Foundation’s “Pretrial Risk Assessment” tool determined that he was not a danger to the community or a flight risk and therefore should not be subject to any accountable release – just a “promise” to appear.

Third time’s the charm? Jersey City man arrested again for attempted car burglary in Bayonne

(reported by NJ.com – June 28 2017)

With another month comes another arrest for this Jersey City man.

Bayonne police last week arrested Isaiah N. Jones, a 26-year-old from Jersey City, and charged him with burglary and theft and attempted burglary to a motor vehicle after he was caught entering cars parking in the Bayonne Crossing Way parking lot, authorities said.

This is the third time this year Bayonne officers have caught Jones rummaging through parked cars.

On June 22, Jones was arrested after he entered and removed items from a Hyundai Tucson, and then tried to enter a Jeep Compass — both parked in the Bayonne Crossing Way parking lot, police said.

In late May, Jones was arrested and charged after witnesses saw him attempting to enter parked cars in the area of 41st and 42nd streets.

He was additionally charged with obstructing a governmental function when — after fleeing from police — he was found hiding under a deck in the yard of a West 42nd Street residence.

And in April, an off-duty police sergeant spotted Jones “lurking around the area” and pulling on car door handles in the South Cove Commons parking lot.

He was subsequently arrested and charged with attempted burglary.

Police Capt. Janine Foy at the time of the report said Jones had matched the description of a male suspected of committing numerous car burglaries in Bayonne.
