Woman slaps cop, threatens to kill him FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform

Yolanda C. Perez

New Jersey woman charged with aggravated assault on a police officer – released by court order under NJ Bail Reform.

Jersey City – Yolanda C. Perez, 52, was arrested after allegedly slapping a police officer in the face and threatening to kill him while on the way to the hospital. Perez was arrested during an investigation and was found to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.

According to the complaint, Perez told the officer that “Next time I see you, I’m going to fu*k you up.”

Despite the prosecutor filing a motion to detain, Perez was later released and FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform after the Arnold Foundation’s “Pretrial Risk Assessment” tool determined she was not a danger to the community or a flight risk and therefore should not be subject to any accountable release – just a “promise” to appear.

The release is yet another example of the thousands of unaccountable and FREE TO GO pretrial releases of those criminally charged under the NJ Bail Reform Act.
