An accused drug dealer in Hackensack, who’s home was a mere few hundred feet from a local middle school, was arrested in possession of tens of thousands of dollars in drugs and cash – now FREE TO GO under NJ’s Bail Reform Act.

Hackensack, NJ – Alejandro Camargo, 39, of Hacksensack, was charged with maintaining a drug production facility and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, and other drug related charges after a raid of his Berry Street home.

Detectives in the raid of Camargo’s home, which is located a few hundred feet from a local middle school, seized seven pounds of pot, more than a quarter-pound of cocaine, 25 pounds of THC gummies, along with nearly $42,000 in proceeds, 18 THC hashish oil vaporizer cartridges, various anabolic steroids, and other drugs.

After being sent to Bergen County Jail, Camargo was released just in time for his birthday on Sunday and FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform after the Arnold Foundation’s “Pretrial Risk Assessment” tool determined he was not a danger to the community or a flight risk and therefore should not be subject to any accountable release – just a “promise” to appear.

The release is yet another example of the thousands of unaccountable and FREE TO GO pretrial releases of those criminally charged under the NJ Bail Reform Act.

(reported by Jerry DeMarco of the Daily Voice – May 7 2018)

Detectives who raided an accused drug dealer’s Hackensack home barely a few hundred feet from a middle school said they seized seven pounds of pot, more than a quarter-pound of cocaine and 25 pounds of THC gummies, along with nearly $42,000 in proceeds and other drugs.

Alejandro Camargo surrendered to police on Thursday following the Berry Street townhouse raid across the street from the middle school.

He was sent to the Bergen County Jail on a variety of drug offenses — only to be released by a judge, under New Jersey’s 2017 bail reform law, in time for his 39th birthday on Sunday, records show.

The charges include maintaining a drug production facility and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana, Calo said.
