Jersey City, NJ – Man Walking Down the Street with Gun Recently Sentenced to Probation FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform

Jamal Buddington, 22, of Jersey City, who only two months ago was sentenced to five years probation, was arrested Mar 17  after walking down the street with a rifle in his pants…now FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform.

The prosecutor noted that Buddington has an extensive juvenile record and commented “and here we are again.”

A 22-year-old Jersey City man charged with walking down a city street with a rifle in his pants on Wednesday was sentence to five years probation for other offenses only two months ago.

Jamal Buddington, of Claremont Avenue, appeared in Criminal Justice Reform Court in Jersey City yesterday on the charges of unlawful possession of a .22 caliber rifle, resisting arrest and possession of a firearm by a felon, the criminal complaint says.

At the hearing, the prosecutor noted that Buddington has an extensive juvenile record, was arrested walking down the street with a rifle on Wednesday, was recently sentenced to five years probation “and here we are again.”

The judge ordered Buddington released pending trial with conditions of supervision. His next court hearing is scheduled for May 11 before Hudson County Superior Court Judge Paul DePascale.
