Vicious beating by Harrison man sends woman to hospital: police

(reported by NJ.com – Aug 23 2017)

A 31-year-old Harrison man has been charged with brutally beating a woman and leaving her hospitalized following an argument Sunday.

Julio C. Flores-Aldana, of the 300 block of William Street, is charged with punching the women in the face several times until she collapsed to the ground, the criminal complaint says of the Harrison incident.

He then allegedly kicked her in the head and back, causing swelling and abrasions “all over the victim’s body.” The woman was taken to St. Michael’s Medical Center in Newark for treatment, the complaint says.

Flores-Aldana made his first appearance on the charge of aggravated assault Monday in Criminal Justice Reform Court in Jersey City via video link from Hudson County jail in Kearny.

At the hearing, the state moved to detain him through the course of his prosecution. A detention hearing is set for Thursday before Hudson County Superior Court Judge Paul DePascale in the Hudson County Administration Building in Jersey City.

The complaint says that Flores-Aldana and the woman know each other, but it does not describe their relationship.
