Jersey City, NJ – Despite motion to detain alleged drug dealer, man charged with heroin distribution FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform

Anthony Davis, 47, of Jersey City, was charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine, possession with intent to distribute within 1,000 feet of a school and within 500 feet of public property when police seized 43 bags of heroin and 119 bags of cocaine after they were eyewitness to a drug deal. Prosecutors moved to detain Davis, however, Davis was released and FREE TO GO after his detention hearing.

How is that new AG Directive working out New Jersey? With the judiciary only utilizing release or detention for offenders, expect unaccountable release to continue to be the norm.
