Heroin and Assault: Ralph Conquest, 37, was arrested after police found him in possession of 41 grams of crack cocaine, 112 decks of heroin, two Percocet pills, one gram of marijuana and $1,274, which was seized. Officials say detectives were in the 500 block of Hoffman Avenue when they encountered Conquest, who they believed was trying to hide a weapon in his waistband. Conquest refused to comply with orders to show his hands, officials say, then turned away from cops. As police arrested him for obstruction of justice, Conquest broke free from a cop’s grasp, then head butt a detective and tried to run. Police quickly tackled Conquest but a lengthy, violent struggle ensued, during which time cops were elbowed and kicked by the defendant. Conquest is charged with two counts of aggravated assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest, hindering apprehension and numerous drug offenses.
