Ridgewood, NJ – Ex-con FREE TO GO for 3rd time this year on drug related charges under NJ Bail Reform

Jason Demarino, 40, is a free man once again under NJ Bail Reform for heroin related drug charges.

Demarino has been arrested in twice in August in Mahwah and and Ridgewood. Ealier in the year, Demarino was arrested in Clifton. All three times he was released and FREE TO GO under NJ Bail Reform after the Arnold Foundation’s “Pretrial Risk Assessment” tool determined that he was not a danger to the community or a flight risk and therefore should not be subject to any accountable release – just a “promise” to appear.

Ridgewood Police Bust Rockland Career Criminal On Drug Charges

(reported by Jerry DeMarco of the Daily Voice – Aug 24 2017)

Four days after he was released from jail following a Mahwah arrest, a Suffern ex-con with an extensive criminal history was found carrying heroin and drugs, Ridgewood police said.

Jason Demarino, 40, was processed at village police headquarters and taken to the Bergen County Jail on drug-related charges after the North Broad Street arrest on Monday, Police Chief Jacqueline Luthcke said.

A judge the following day released him pending further court action.

Demarino spent nearly two weeks in the county lockup after Mahwah police arrested him on drug charges on Aug. 4. He’s also facing charges from earlier this year out of Clifton.

He has a criminal history in Bergen County that stretches back to 2000, with arrests in Elmwood Park, Hackensack, Maywood, Paramus, Upper Saddle River and elsewhere on charges that include burglary, resisting arrest, probation violations and drug-related offenses.

Demarino has also been busted on drug-related charges in Rockland County, records show.

Two years ago, he and his mother were arrested in Paterson after police said they’d just bought heroin.
