Child porn sweep: Professor, government contractor among 14 charged in Monmouth

(reported by NJ 101.5 – Sept 15 2017)

A summer long investigation into images of child sexual abuse has led to 14 arrests in Monmouth County.

Among those arrested as part of  “Operation School’s Out” were a professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, a retired computer scientist who previously held federal government contracts, and an electronics technician.

Gramiccioni said the sweep spanned July 20 to Aug. 31 during the summer vacation, a time he said children are at their most vulnerable.

“Operation School’s Out caught individuals who shamelessly viewed and shared depraved images of children being sexually abused. Our successful operation demonstrates the value of our partnerships with the local law enforcement agencies that help our ICAC Task Force continue to have a vigilant and watchful eye for this extremely damaging criminal activity.” Christopher J. Gramiccioni said.

All the defendants were released and could not have unsupervised contact with minors. They are also prohibited from using the internet.
